Good and bad cages
A common misconception about hamsters is that they can live happily in small cages. This is NOT true! Hamsters that live in small cages get very bored and stressed, which can lead to fatal illnesses such as wet tail. Hamsters cannot live a happy, full life in small cages.
Bad cages
I have seen so many small cages for sale in petshops and on amazon. People think that these cages are big enough and they are not. The minium hamster cage size is 360SQ inches. Remember that this is just a minium and any bigger would be much more better!

Good cages
You can buy good cages online from websites such as; Zooplus, Viovet and amazon. Below are some pictures of good cages. (Hover for cage names)
Large cages are important as hamsters need a lot of space for running about, having fun, toys, wheels, a nest and lots more. Remember that in the wild, hamsters have miles and miles of space. A small cage cannot provide this, even with a wheel.
If you currently own a small cage, then I urge you to buy a bigger and better one!
