DON'TS

 

Don't: Give your hamsters water baths, as this can lead to death.

 

Don't: Give your hamster human junk foods.

 

Don't: Use cotton/fluff nesting material, pine, cedar or scented bedding.

 

Don't: Give your hamster a small, cramped cage.

 

Don't: Make your hamster go without a wheel/flying saucer and make sure its not too small!

 

Don't: Buy two Syrian hamsters and put them in the same cage, as this can lead to death. Pet shops only keep them in the same tank because there wouldn't be enough room for seperate tanks. If you do house Syrian hamsters together they will either; fight to their deaths, which would be very upsetting, or they would become very stressed and soon die as Syrian hamsters are very territorial and soiltary.

 

Don't: Breed your hamster. Most people think that it's just putting to hamsters together, when its not that at all! You need to know the background history of the two hamsters, you need to know there genetics ect. Leave breeding to the professionals.

Do: Give your hamsters sand baths

 

Do: Give your hamster vegetables, fruits and special hamster treats.

 

Do: Use paper based beddings and nesting materials.

 

Do: Give your hamster a large, spacious and fun-to-live-in cage.

 

Do: Give your hamster a wheel/flying saucer at the appropriate size.
